My Amazon Portfolio
I've always admired Amazon for their creativity and their willingness to try new things, but what really impresses me, is how they communicate their many products and services. And by many, I mean, well, let's count them: Alexa, Echo, Dash, Drones, Amazon Prime, Kindle, Fire tablets, Launchpad, Handmade, Audiobooks. Where many businesses fall down after trying to introduce a second or a third product, you could point to any of those Amazon ventures and understand in seconds what it's about. That's an incredible achievement.
For such a large organisation to have such a consistent and user-friendly tone of voice across that many product and service lines, is mind-blowing. I want to work with Amazon, it's that simple. What follows is a portfolio of work that I put together over the past week, which demonstrates my understanding of some of those Amazon products and services mentioned.
I should be clear, that this portfolio is intended for creative purposes only, and that none of these pieces are official Amazon ads. Amazon did not ask me to make them, and we have no professional relationship (yet.)
Mr. Jeff Bezos, if you are reading, sir, I hope that you enjoy.
Amazon Echo with Alexa
Far-field voice recognition means that Echo can hear you from across the room, even when it's noisy. Plus, because Echo uses Amazon's own Alexa Voice Service, your experience with Echo just gets better and better as the technology learns and adapts. Play music and audiobooks, book an Uber, schedule meetings and control all of your connected smart devices, all using your voice.
Just use the wake word 'Alexa' to get started.
Blue Shade for the Fire HD 8
Blue light from computer, tablet and phone screens, suppresses your body's production of melatonin, an essential hormone for regulating a natural sleep-wake cycle. That used to be a problem for those who like to read in bed, but with Blue Shade on the Kindle Fire HD 8, blue light is filtered, meaning you can enjoy your favourite novel, without affecting your beauty sleep.
Amazon Dash Button
Running out of life's little essentials is annoying, and in this day and age, quite unnecessary. There's an Amazon Dash button for just about everything, from tissues and protein supplements, to coffee pods and washing powder. Simply stick the button where it's needed, and when supplies are running low, push the WiFi-connected Dash Button, and Amazon will deliver replacements the very next day.
When you absolutely, positively must have it as soon as possible, sign up to Amazon Prime, and get it delivered in two shakes of a dog's tail.
As one of the biggest, most trusted and easily-searchable marketplaces in the world, where better to sell your creations than Amazon? Handmade is Amazon's own online marketplace for everything from craft baby clothes, to jewellery, artworks and stationary. Sign up, and set up your own 24/7 stall at one of the world's biggest marketplaces.
Let's talk about work
That's it. If you've been suitably impressed, and you work for Amazon, please get in touch and let's talk. Even if you don't work for Amazon and you'd still like to talk, please get in touch.
